It has been a brilliantly busy first term in room 5. The boys and girls settled in to their new class quickly and we got down to work straight away! We are delighted to have four new children join our school. A big welcome to Maia, Roisin, Mohamed and Araav!
Some of the activities we got involved in during the last few weeks include investigating pneumatics, learning about the Romans, making volcanoes, creating Roman themed art and carrying out research for our Roman projects. We are looking forward to seeing the children’s projects after the mid term break.
We had some special visits this term including one from members of the PTA who told us about keeping safe on the way to and from school, from Amnesty International who presented us with a hamper for raising lots of money during Friendship Week, from the Mobile Library and we even invited our parents in to see our new classroom.
On Jersey Day we brought in 2 euro for the charity Goal to support the important work they do.
We learned last week that maths is most definitely fun! During maths week we took part in estimation stations, maths stations in the hall, composing maths songs, designing our own maths eyes posters and the highlight of the week was taking a trip to Marsh’s Library to undertake Lego challenges.
Many children in our class took part in recent sporting events including soccer and athletics. Well done to everyone but especially to Noah who came 2nd in his event.
There is lots more to look forward to before we take our mid term break. Members of the PTA will read to us next week in the library and on Friday we will have our Halloween Disco!
Many thanks to Theresa and Kim for all their help this term!
